About Us
We are a full service contemporary studio located in beautiful Asheville NC. Our studio is bright and spacious with lots of good energy, and most importantly-adult and kid friendly. We offer a HUGE selection of fun and unique pottery pieces, ranging in price from $2 to $70. We have over 60 different colors of underglaze, fun specialty glazes, various stamps, stencils, sample pottery and books to get you in the mood. Not sure if you can do it? Not to worry we will show you how! So come on in and release your inner artist by reserving a pottery wheel lesson on one of our pottery wheels, painting pottery, handbuilding with clay, making a mosaic, glass fusing, or creating a beautiful 99.9% silver charm with our totally easy "Lilly Ollo" silver clay. We offer so much in one convenient location that the possibilities are endless! There is even a Starbucks in our spacious parking lot! Just sit back, relax and create, Claying Around will take care of the rest. Once you have painted your pottery, we clean up for you, glaze your pottery, fire it until it shines, and then wrap your finished pieces for you. (Pottery takes 5 days to get back.) All of our glazes and underglazes are LEAD FREE, non toxic, microwave and dishwasher safe. (although, we do recommend hand washing to extend the life of your precious keepsakes.) We have various glass and ceramic tiles to create that one-of-a-kind mosaic; each mosaic plaque is priced to include everything you need to complete your project. Mosaics are perfect for those who like immediate satisfaction, because you take it home with you when you're finished. The price also includes a take home grout kit! Glass fusing is a new and unique way to create your own fabulous glass dishes, bowls, wind chimes, night lights, votives, vases, pendants, and even picture frames. Each base piece of glass is individually priced to include everything you would need to complete this utterly cool project! It's super easy and so fun, and anyone can do it (we'll even sit with you, hold your hand, and get you started!) Don't Forget we also offer Silver Clay. The silver clay is 99.9% pure silver made from recycled silver; so it also good for the environment! Silver clay can also be taken home with you the same day, the process takes about 90 minutes. You can make one of a kind pendants with your Childs fingerprint, or charms, or earrings...because we love our customers, we will make sure you know what you're doing and sit with you step by step. We offer all of these everyday we are open, so just stop in and we will get you started. We also offer various hot and cold beverages, super snacks, and irresistible frozen treats and ice cream. While you are here be sure to check out our locally hand made ceramics, and gift items. Our studio fee is $6 per painter. Our Wheel fee is $15 per half hour, including instruction, Clay costs $2 per pound. (pottery wheels are by appt. only)
